“I’m Back!”

Ok, so where did I go??  Back to school for my Family Nurse Practitioner degree!  I was waaay too busy with clinical rotations, working fulltime, and taking care of family to see patients!  (Did I mention moving, construction, family illness and death?  Life happens!)  But I am finished with school, graduated 2016, took ANCC certification June 2017, NJ APN in November 2017!

So what does it mean?  I am still an IBCLC but with added qualifications! I think you will like the difference.  Call for in-home consultations — I do not have an office yet!  Still looking for the right space…IMG_0613(1)

IBCLC

Someone in my group put this out there and I think it’s great!  If you have breastfeeding issues or problems, make sure the “lactation consultant” is an “IBCLC!”  “IBCLC” stands for “International Board Certified Lactation Consultant”.  We have hours and hours of training and practice and take a rigorous examination to be certified! IMG_1357

Happy Fourth of July!

It’s a great day to be in America!  We have so much to be grateful for:  family, friends, health, work!  I hope everyone has plans to celebrate this “Day of Independence” in America’s history!  Moms, drink plenty of water to keep hydrated in warm weather.  If your baby is less than 6 months of age, your milk provides all the fluid or hydration your baby needs — just breastfeed more frequently. No need to add formula unless there is a medical reason.
